Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the CRUGAA platform and services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Crawford University Global Alumni Association (CRUGAA) website, member portal, and any related services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Membership Eligibility

Membership in CRUGAA is open to:

  • All graduates and former students of Crawford University, Igbesa, Ogun State, Nigeria who have completed at least one academic session.
  • Honorary members as approved by the CRUGAA Executive Committee.
  • Associate members, including current students in their final year, as defined by the CRUGAA constitution.

All membership applications are subject to verification of alumni status. CRUGAA reserves the right to decline or revoke membership if eligibility criteria are not met or if fraudulent information is provided.

3. User Accounts

When you create an account on the Platform, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your profile updated.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and be responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Notify CRUGAA immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other security breach.

CRUGAA reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or remain inactive for an extended period.

4. Code of Conduct

As a member of the CRUGAA community, you agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
  • Post, upload, or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with Crawford University or CRUGAA.
  • Harvest, collect, or store personal data of other members without their consent.
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or security.
  • Use the Platform to distribute spam, unsolicited advertisements, or promotional material.

CRUGAA reserves the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Code of Conduct at its sole discretion.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, and the CRUGAA brand identity, is the property of the Crawford University Global Alumni Association or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Platform without prior written permission from CRUGAA. Members retain ownership of content they submit to the Platform but grant CRUGAA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the association's activities.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CRUGAA disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In no event shall CRUGAA, its officers, executive committee members, or volunteers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or interruption of service.

7. Modifications to These Terms

CRUGAA reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify members of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the website. Your continued use of the Platform after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be resolved through amicable negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
